WORK EXPERIENCE
October 2001 to Present. Sales/Service Consultant (Account Manager), Qwest Communications,
Phoenix, AZ. Primary point of contact for the sale of QWEST products and services to customers. Consult with customers and gather data to establish telecommunications needs.  Majority of work done on computer systems.  Work in a highly structured, fast-paced environment. Offer the most appropriate solutions for customer needs. Use various computer programs to generate service order activities for items such as home phone, cellular, Internet, cable and satellite services. Obtain necessary credit information from customers for security purposes and recordkeeping. Arrange for security deposit where required. Negotiate acceptable payment arrangements; verify addresses and availability of facilities. Resolve discrepancies to ensure the order is processed accurately. Negotiate installation dates and times with customers. Arrange for transfer of customer services when needed. Make changes in customer's services by adding to or removing features from existing service.  Answer billing questions very specifically.   Change telephone numbers, billing arrangements, and process the orders to make the necessary changes in the customer's records.

 

December 2003 to December 2004. Union Steward for Communications Workers of America Local 7019.  Health Benefits subject matter expert (SME).  Represented and defended Union members based on contractual agreements.  Assisted members in properly using their healthcare benefits.


December 2000 to September 2001. Sales Representative, MCI (Worldcom),
Phoenix, AZ. One of the top sales associates at MCI. Said to be a natural-born salesman. Able to operate a computer and make sales simultaneously and proficiently, yet quickly. Awesome communication skills. Help to train new hires as a team mentor.

January 2000 to September 2000. Field Service Technician/ Diesel Mechanic Team Leader, Strategic Support Services Corporation, (Civilian) Contractor with
U.S. Army, Vilseck, Germany. Performed annual, bi-annual, and semi-annual services on various military (diesel) vehicles and equipment. Also performed repairs and the replacement of vehicle parts. In charge of up to 15 personnel at one time. Ensuring work was performed properly, safely, and in a timely manner.

April 1999 to November 1999. Associate Manager, Ryan's Family Steakhouse,
Burlington, IA. Completed an extensive management training course and became ServSafe as well as CPR certified. Performed all major tasks in day to day operations of steakhouse/ buffet type restaurant that seated up to 394 customers. Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising all shifts. Conducted orientation and continued training of employees stressing the teamwork atmosphere, safety and open, honest communication. Set specific goals and objectives resulting in maximizing efficiency while continuing to provide top quality customer service. Responsible for mass production of large tractor tires.  Became proficient in working within close tolerances and within specific statistical detail insuring tires were built according to specifications. Used large hoists to remove tires and drums from the line. Located inventory by codes quickly and accurately to maintain pace on the assembly line. Set up machines frequently to build different sized tires. Performed preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment using various types of power and hand tools. Inspected product for quality before sending to next department.
